VONO is building the financial and operational infrastructure that Africa's 44 million micro and small businesses deserve — software that starts with the realities of African commerce, not a Western template.
Across Sub-Saharan Africa, more than 92% of micro and small enterprises operate with no digital tools at all. They manage billions of shillings in daily transactions through handwritten ledgers, mental arithmetic and scattered WhatsApp messages. They have no financial history, no credit profile, and no way to prove their business health to a lender.
VONO exists to change this — by building mobile-first business software that turns daily business activity into structured financial data, opens access to credit, and gives business owners the clarity they need to make smarter decisions every day.
Every product decision starts with the realities of African commerce — mobile money, offline connectivity, informal supply chains, cash-first markets. Never a Western product adapted for Africa.
The smartphone is the computer for the vast majority of African business owners. If it doesn't work perfectly on a low-cost Android phone, it doesn't ship.
Business owners trust us with their most sensitive data. We treat that trust with absolute seriousness — encryption, clear consent, and no third-party sharing without explicit permission.
Complexity is easy. Building something powerful enough for a multi-branch retailer and simple enough for a market trader with one day of schooling — that's the hard part. That's our goal.
Not financial inclusion as a talking point — as a daily outcome. Every business owner who gets a loan offer through VONO is someone who previously had no path to formal credit.
We don't lend. We don't compete with banks. We build the infrastructure layer that makes lending, payments and business services better for everyone in the ecosystem.
VONO is a product of XFIN Digital Technologies LLC FZ, a fintech company headquartered in Dubai, UAE. XFIN builds financial technology products and platforms for emerging markets, with a specific focus on the unbanked and underbanked populations of Sub-Saharan Africa.
The VONO ecosystem — comprising the Digital Cashbook, VONO BOS, and HR & Payroll — represents XFIN's flagship product suite for the African SME market. At the core of all three products is XFIN's proprietary Credit Intel and Decisioning System (CIDS) — an AI-powered engine that builds credit profiles from business activity data, enabling access to formal credit for businesses that have never had it.
XFIN operates through local partnerships in each market, working with licensed financial institutions, mobile money operators and business networks to bring VONO to entrepreneurs on the ground.
XFIN establishes the VONO product vision. Digital Cashbook v1 built and piloted with local partner network in Uganda.
Digital Cashbook goes live in Uganda. VONO BOS developed and launched for retail, restaurant and beauty segments. CIDS credit engine live.
HR & Payroll launches in Kenya. Embedded salary advance goes live. East African multi-market rollout begins across Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda.
Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa. Embedded insurance, POS hardware, business debit cards, and B2B trading marketplace.
VONO's three products are built on a shared technology backbone — meaning data flows between them, credit profiles grow across all of them, and every product makes the others more valuable.
